THE UK's sexiest girl next door was philosophical yesterday after missing out in an international competition run by the magazine which plucked her from obscurity.

Tanya Robinson is already a pin-up across Britain after her victory in FHM magazine's High Street Honeys competition in February.

A pub in her home town of Richmond, North Yorkshire, was so proud of her achievements that it renamed itself in her honour.

In the end, Tanya's Charms lasted less than a week after protests prompted The Fleece, in Victoria Road, to revert to its former name.

But 21-year-old Tanya's career continued to snowball, and she was soon on her way to Miami, where those charms were pitted against 13 girls from countries around the world.

On Monday night, Sky One viewers were able to watch them sharing a villa, while FHM readers and Sky One viewers voted.

In the end, it was the entrant from FHM France who took the Bikini Heaven title.

Tanya said: "I would certainly do it all over again. I am obviously disappointed, but it has been a fantastic experience and I have had a wonderful time.''

Tanya is making an appearance on Channel 4's RI:SE tomorrow morning, and five London agencies are vying for her signature.

She said: "I know I have got to keep my feet on the ground, but it would be nice to do a bit of modelling as a sideline to some television work.

"I have even considered acting and then perhaps a move to the States."
