Cabbie Bob Frazer, who scooped more than £14m on the National Lottery, was last night re-united with his son.

He met son Alan in London for the first time in five years after publicly promising to make him a millionaire too.

Bob, 58, of Heaton, Newcastle, has also vowed to hold a huge party for his 11 brothers and three sisters.

As reported in later editions of The Northern Echo yesterday, 35-year-old Alan, who lives in Endon, Staffordshire said he was "delighted" to hear about his father's good luck, adding: "I'd love to join him for a cold beer."

The jackpot winner scooped £14.2m - the eighth biggest prize in the National Lottery's history - after he won Saturday's Lotto Extra draw.

Bob has also given a taxi-driving pal Eddie Smith his silver R-registered Mercedes E-class now he has replacing it with a new sportier model.

Eddie, 34, was woken by a call from the overnight millionaire on Sunday morning.

He said: "We went out together for a celebration drink and got well and truly smashed.

"During the session Bob said to me, 'Eddie, I want you to have my car'. It's just typical of him - he's the most generous guy in the world.

Bob and wife Dot, 51, will celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary in September, by which time they hope to have moved to Spain.
