ANYONE interested in monitoring the activities of county councillors can apply to become a member of the standards committee.
A member of the standards committee would:
* Promote good decision-making by members of the council.
* Approve, monitor and provide training on the code of conduct.
* Ensure members declare any interests they have when making decisions in council.
Anyone who would like to be considered as an independent member of the committee should contact the county council. The positions are voluntary, although travelling expenses and allowances will be paid to the successful applicants.
