A mystery guest from the BBC's Antiques Roadshow and Adam Schoon, of Tennants of Leyburn, will present My Favourite Antiques, at the Friarage Hospital, in Northallerton, next week.

HOTEL SALE: The Bridge House Hotel, a 17th Century riverside coaching inn at Catterick Bridge, has been sold through the Harrogate office of specialist hotel, leisure and licensed property agents Robert Barry and Co. Sold for the asking price of £600,000, the hotel has 15 en suite bedrooms, a ball room and fishing rights to a stretch of the River Swale.

WELL READ: A reading group is being set up in Tang Hall, York, as part of a city-wide initiative to encourage more people to talk about books and reading. The group will meet monthly at Tang Hall Library, with the first meeting at 6pm on Monday. People are invited to take their favourite book and enjoy a glass of wine during the meeting. LEVEL CROSSING: Motorists in Northallerton are being warned about the temporary closure of Springwell Lane level crossing for track maintenance work from 8pm on Saturday, May 3, until 9am the following day. Access for pedestrians will be maintained at all times.

BRIDLEWAY CLOSED: The public bridleway next to Addlethorpe Wood at Sicklinghall, Harrogate, will be closed temporarily for bridge repairs. The work is due to begin next Monday and will last for five days.
