MEDICS in Spennymoor are celebrating their new Quality Practice Award from the Royal College of GPs.
Dr Andrew Sanderson and his partners provide care for over 9,800 patients from their two surgeries Adan House, in St Andrew's Road, and Byers Green.
Staff were congratulated by Royal College assessors for being an exceptionally close knit team who worked well together.
Dr Dinah Roy, a GP who chairs the Sedgefield PCT professional executive committee, said: "This achievement would not have been possible without the hard work and commitment of all the staff at the practice and the primary health care team.
