A SUCCESSFUL kerbside recycling scheme will treble in size this summer and cover three quarters of a city's houses.
City of York Council's fortnightly collection scheme - taking glass jars, bottles, cans and paper - will increase to cover 60,000 homes.
So far the scheme has been very well used, with more than 1,800 tonnes of recyclable goods being taken away.
Its expansion is part of the council's drive to meet tough Government recycling targets for domestic rubbish.
