THE funeral of a North-East workman killed in an industrial accident will be held next week.
David Applegarth, 33, of Lowson Street, Darlington, died after he was struck by a falling steel pipe at Finley Structures, on Newton Aycliffe industrial estate, County Durham.
The father-of-two had been working at the site for DK Steel Erections, for whom he had worked on and off for about five years.
An inquest into Mr Applegarth's death has been opened and adjourned by South Durham coroner Colin Penna while a pathologist's report and an inspection by the Health and Safety Executive is completed.
His funeral will take place on Tuesday at Darlington crematorium, at 2.45pm for a service and committal.
