DURHAM City Council is to open a one-stop-shop to deal with all queries from clients under the same roof.

The centre, which will be officially opened next Thursday, at Coxhoe Lesiure Centre, will be staffed by people who can deal with inquiries about rent, council tax, repairs, rubbish collections or any other aspect of council business.

PLANT SALE: A plant sale will be held at Brancepeth Village Hall on Saturday, May 10, between 10am and 4pm, to raise money for the Brancepeth Community Association. Admission is free.

ROCK NIGHT: Popular County Durham rock band TT Blue will be playing at The Archer, in Archbold Terrace, Jesmond, Newcastle, tonight at 8pm. Admission is free.

SALSA SESSIONS: Salsa classes are held every Wednesday at Durham's Gala Theatre. Beginners start at 7.30pm and an intermediate session starts at 8.30pm. The classes are followed by a dance until 11pm. The sessions cost £4.

NEW LEAF: The Friends of Old Fulling Mill Museum of Archaeology are holding a book, plant and cake sale on the riverbank next to the museum on Saturday, May 10, at 11am.

CHARITY CASH: Durham City branch of the Leukaemia Research Fund raised £472.16 with a collection at Sainsbury's, The Arnison Centre, Pity Me. The branch thanks everyone who contributed to the collection.

LUNCH CLUB: A luncheon club meets every Tuesday, between noon and 1.30pm at Sherburn Hill Community Centre, Front Street, Sherburn Hill. For details, call 0191-372 0024.
