RESIDENTS in the County Durham Cheshire Home, in Crook, were last night enjoying the contents of a huge hamper after being presented with an unwanted raffle prize.
The hamper was the star prize in an Easter raffle organised by the Freemasons Lodge in Crook.
However, winner Eddie Gibson felt that the prize, which was full to the brim with tinned and other types of food, would be put to better use by residents at the home.
Peter Johnson and Chris Blair, of the Freemasons, visited residents yesterday and presented the gift.
Mr Johnson said: "Mr Gibson felt the hamper was too big for one man to enjoy on his own and thought it would be a nice gesture to give it to the residents.''
