VOLUNTEERS from a North-East bank have donated their time to companies in the region in return for charity gifts.
Members of the Barclays Corporate Team Tees organised the job-help scheme to raise money for Hartlepool Hospice.
Vivien Patterson, a corporate services assistant at the bank, spent time working at BiB, Insurance Brokers and Financial Advisors, in Darlington.
BiB asked her to spend the afternoon looking after visitors to their offices in Northgate, in exchange for a donation to the hospice.
Ms Patterson said: "Hartlepool Hospice is a very worthy cause. At Barclays we are committed to local communities. By supporting the hospice on an ongoing basis over the year, we hope to make a real and lasting difference. The team at BiB made me feel very welcome and the customers certainly appreciated my coffee making skills."
Barclays will match money raised through the scheme for the hospice's work
