A front seat passenger injured when a Vauxhall Astra overturned was "comfortable" in hospital yesterday.
The unnamed man, 20, from Shiney Row, Wearside, had surgery for serious facial injuries, at Sunderland Eye Infirmary, after the crash on the A690 at West Rainton, near Durham, on Sunday night.
The driver, 22, of Houghton-le-Spring, had cuts to his scalp and arm, and a 19-year-old passenger, from Penshaw, suffered whiplash and shock.
