A North Yorkshire removals firm will feature in a BBC television show.

A crew from A and G Removals, of Melmerby, near Ripon, helped with the Children in Need £1m Property Challenge, helping to return furniture to stores who assisted the show. The programme will be screened in September.

MYTHS UNVEILED: Richmond Civic Society welcomes Edinburgh University's Clive Bosnall at the next meeting on Friday, May 9. Mr Bosnall will be discussing the myths and legends of the Iron Gate Gorge, at the Zetland Christian Community Centre, from 7.30pm. All are welcome.Admission for non-members will be £3.

WITNESS APPEAL: Police are appealing for witnesses to an accident involving a motorcyclist and a van on the A171, Whitby Road, near Kirk Moor Beck. At 11.15am yesterday the male rider became trapped beneath the van and was eventually released and treated by paramedics. He was taken by air ambulance to hospital where his injuries were serious but not life-threatening. Witnesses are asked to call (01723) 509555.

HOME SUPPORT: North Yorkshire County Council's library at Masham will begin offering young people the chance to use the Internet for their homework. Homework support lessons will take place on Tuesdays, between 3.30pm and 4.45pm, starting on Tuesday. For details, call (01765) 689723.

WHIST DRIVE: The mayor's chosen charities and the Friary Hospital will benefit from a whist drive to be held at Richmond Town Hall on Saturday night. Doors open at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £1.50.
