Hartlepool United will celebrate the end of season in style regardless of the outcome of this Saturday's title clincher at Rushden and Diamonds.

Details were unveiled yesterday of a 90 minute open-top bus tour around the town, which will be followed by a Promotion Reception at the Civic Centre for players, coaching staff and club officials.

The team will set off on the bus from Victoria Park on Monday at 11am and is expected to arrive outside the Civic Centre at 12.30pm.

The full route is; 11am leave Victoria Park, 11.04 Cleveland Road, 11.09 Durham Street, 11.13 Middlegate (Borough Hall), 11.15 Northgate, 11.22 West View Road, 11.25 Winterbottom Avenue, 11.30 Easington Road (The Powlett), 11.35 Jesmond Gardens, 11.37 Hart Lane, 11.40 Wooler Road, 11.45 Catcote Road, 11.52 Owton Manor Lane, 11.56 Seaton Lane, 12.00 Elizabeth Way, 12.05 The Front, Seaton Carew, 12.10 Station Lane, 12.12 Seaton Lane, 12.15 Stockton Road, 12.20 Caledonian Road, 12.22 Oxford Road, 12.25 Stockton Road, 12.27 York Road and 12.30 Civic Centre.

Many organisations have helped out with the event including Camerons Brewery, Cleveland Caterers, Hartlepool United Disabled Supporters Association and Asda.

The Promotion Reception is being jointly hosted by the town's mayor, Stuart Drummond and council chairman, councillor Carl Richardson.

In a joint statement they said: "At the beginning of the season we promised the club we would organise an open-top bus tour and reception if they gained promotion.

"Overall, it has been a fantastic season for Hartlepool United and their achievements have brought great benefits to the town.

"We hope residents and other supporters will turn out in their thousands to cheer the team and acknowledge their promotion to the Nationwide Second Division."

Civic leaders will present a silver salver to club captain, Micky Barron, when the team arrives outside the Civic Centre.
