MORE than 100 children and parents will be pedalling along Redcar seafront in the third annual Blue Peter Bikeathon on Sunday.
The event, one of 87 nationwide that aims to raise £1m for Leukaemia Research, will set off from the Majuba Road car park at 11am, making its way to The Stray then returning for a four-mile circle.
Participants in the Redcar event, organised by Leukaemia Research and Redcar Town Centre Management, will include the Gateway Wheelers from Durham, a cycling club for the disabled who have a variety of cycles, including tandems and side-by-side cycles, and replica vintage bikes.
Free registration for the event can be made on the day from 10am to 11am at the events caravan in Majuba Road car park, where displays and information about safe cycling will be featured.
