SADIE Ayton, the specialist bra fitter, is hoping that her fitting technique, which she believes is more accurate than conventional methods, will scoop a major prize at the this year's Spirit of Innovation Awards.
Lingerie Retailer of the Year 2000, she is successfully trading across her three outlets in Darlington, Consett, Ashington and Sunderland, and is also expanding into franchises.
She said: "The UK brassiere market is worth around £1,030m. Some 70 per cent of this is currently spent on misguided, ill-fitting purchases which end up doing more harm than good."
The awards have helped to highlight the ideas of almost 300 innovators in the North-East since it began, recognising inventions and ideas from students, individuals and companies of all sizes.
