BRIDGE players from Sweden will be taking part in a competition in the region this weekend.
The North-Eastern Bridge Association is hosting a friendly international fixture with Sweden on Saturday and Sunday and each country will have three teams involved.
The visitors from Sweden will be entertained by local players and hope to spend a day of sightseeing while in the area.
Clive Owen, senior partner of Clive Owen & Co Chartered Accountants and a member of St Georges Bridge Centre, said: "I am very much looking forward to playing against Sweden.
"This is an excellent achievement for the club and it shows how hard all those involved at St Georges Bridge Centre have worked to be able to attract competitions of this calibre."
The event is being held at the St George's Bridge Centre, in Darlington, which can be found in what was the Alexandra pub.
The club bought the building from Darlington Simpson Rolling Mills four years ago, and became one of the largest in the country when it merged with Hurworth, Darlington and Long Newton bridge clubs.
The weekend's international is being sponsored by Cameron's Brewery.
