POLICE yesterday released a photograph of Claire McDermott, the convicted killer on the run from prison.
The 28-year-old, who is also known as Claire Weston, walked out of the Askham Grange Open Women's Prison, near York, on April 14, and is still at large.
Detectives are continuing to question friends, relatives and associates of the fugitive, who was given a life sentence in 1995 for stabbing mother-of-one Lisa Morris at the victim's Leicester home.
McDermott had been working and studying in York in preparation for what was expected to be her early release next year.
Three days after she disappeared, police searched a house in Cambridgeshire and arrested a woman on suspicion of aiding and abetting McDermott's escape.
However, the woman was later released without charge.
Detective Sergeant Jon Reed said uniformed officers in York were leading the hunt for McDermott.
He said: "They are going through her lists of friends, relatives, associates and making inquiries, searching addresses throughout the country. We are looking at every angle."
He added that there was no evidence to suggest McDermott was still in North Yorkshire.
Anyone with any information is asked to call police on (01904) 631321.
