ANOTHER disappointing Quakers season draws to a close tomorrow, but there should still be plenty of emotion on show at the last league game to be played at Feethams.

Leyton Orient are the visitors for an otherwise meaningless encounter, but the match marks the end of era for football in Darlington.

The club are scheduled to start next season in their new stadium on the outskirts of town, so Quakers fans are likely to turn out in force to say their farewells to the old ground.

They will be hoping their team can sign off with a victory to end a season of under-achievement on a high note.

Last Saturday's 2-1 defeat at Bristol Rovers was typical of a campaign in which Mick Tait's side have been unable to turn decent performances into points.

The home side needed a win to dispel any lingering relegation fears, but Darlington matched them for commitment and created enough chances to earn at least a point.

The Pirates went ahead through Andy Rammell midway through the first half, but another excellent strike from Clark Keltie pulled Quakers deservedly level after 67 minutes.

The young midfielder smashed a powerful shot into the top corner after the Rovers keeper had punched a Ryan Valentine cross to just outside the area.

It was Keltie's third goal of an encouraging season and all have been memorable efforts.

But, as so often this season, Darlington were unable to finish the job and a Wayne Carlisle free kick a few minutes later gave the home side all three points.
