PEOPLE in developing countries with poor eyesight are being helped by a high street optician in Hambleton.
Thirty pairs of spectacles have been collected at Specsavers Opticians, in Northallerton.
Gordon Lee, a retired optometrist and member of the Rotary Club in Northallerton, joined Specsavers to collect as many pairs of old glasses as possible.
They are being passed on to eyecare charity Vision Aid Overseas, which, in turn, will distribute them to people in developing countries who don't have access to proper eyecare.
