A DISABLED pensioner has been left without transport by vandals who attacked his car.
Police in Bishop Auckland are appealing for witnesses to the incident in which all four tyres on the man's blue Honda were slashed.
The car, which belongs to a 78-year-old former van driver, who is unable to travel around without, was parked in Gray Gardens, Coundon, when it was attacked between Thursday morning and Friday lunchtime
PC Martin Willis, of Bishop Auckland police, said: "This man relies solely on his car to get him to and from hospital.
"He was a van driver for 44 years. He has been driving all his life and it's all he has really.
"I'm hoping somebody in the street may have witnessed what has gone on."
Anyone with any information is asked to contact PC Willis at Bishop Auckland police station, on (01388) 603566.
