FLOWER lovers are being asked to select a wild bloom that will be identified with County Durham for years to come.
Plantlife International is hoping to pick a wild flower emblem for each county throughout the United Kingdom.
Two flowers from each county have been put forward to a final round of voting, based on votes already cast around the country.
The spring gentian and birds-eye primrose have been chosen as the finalists for County Durham.
The announcement of the emblems for all the counties follows the poll to find the UK's wild flower emblem.
The public voted the bluebell for that honour and now votes are needed for individual county's flowers.
To cast your vote log on to www.plantlife.org.uk until October 31, or collect a leaflet at any branch of Laura Ashley.
