STAFF at a North-East factory raised more than £1,500 on a madcap charity fundraising day.
Flymo, in Newton Aycliffe, County Durham, decided to donate the proceeds for its annual charity day to the Ann Teasdale Appeal.
The mother-of-four, from Newton Aycliffe, is receiving treatment in the US to help her overcome the rare condition Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy Syndrome (RSDS).
Mrs Teasdale has already had one leg amputated and faces losing the other unless treatment by Texan doctor Donald A Rhodes is successful.
Staff at Flymo and visitors were invited to collect orange noses to wear on the charity day, in exchange for a small donation.
Factory bosses were delighted by the success of orange nose day, which enabled Andrew McKay to hand over a cheque for just over £1,500 to fundraising co-ordinator Bill Blenkinsopp.
Fundraising efforts for Mrs Teasdale are continuing as supporters do not know how long the treatment will last and how much it will cost for her to stay in the States until it is complete.
Anyone who can help is asked to call (01325) 308057.
