BRICKWORK students have proved their talent by creating their own clock tower.
The students from Bishop Auckland College were set the unusual task as part of their modern apprenticeship course.
The design was based upon a typical brickwork clock for the Queen Victoria Jubilee and incorporated decorative brickwork skills and used Flemish Bond and Buff Face London brick.
The lead Finnel, which was used at the top of the clock, once stood on the roof of Otley Rugby Club in Yorkshire.
It took the level three modern apprenticeship students four months to complete the project.
Mike Thomas, construction lecturer, said: "This was a really interesting project as the decorative brickwork was quite intricate.
"The students worked really hard to get it finished and we are all really pleased with the completed tower."
The clock will remain in the college's workshop as a demonstration piece.
