Oxbridge Darlington and District League: Cockerton managed only 66 all out in 24.3 overs when they visited Middleton St George in division A.

Dave Black scored more than half his side's runs contributing 36 with four boundaries before being run out. Dave McKenna had a good day with the ball for Middleton claiming four wickets for 28 runs in 12.3 overs and Amjit took three for 50.

Batting first Middleton St George made 154 for nine in 30 overs which included 46 by Martin Hall who stroked a six and four boundaries. Malcolm Leafe took three for 56 and Ian Rawlins five for 30 for Cockerton.

Ingleton won by 26 runs at home to Barningham. When they made first use of the wicket Ingleton realised 158 for six which included 77 not out by opening batsman Elgey. Wood added a valuable 33 and for Barningham none did better in their attack then Kearton who had figures of three for ten.

Responding Barningham recovered after losing two early wickets through a third wicket partnership between Newton (47) and May (41) but in the end they could only muster 132 for nine as Osborne captured five wickets for 22 runs.

Aldbrough St John were all out for 114 losing by eight wickets to Haughton for whom Barker scored an unbeaten 30 and McGuire added 35.

Top scorer for Aldbrough St John was opener Lewis with 32 and for Haughton Gill claimed six wickets for 21 runs and Wilkinson three for 33.

Raby Castle managed only 77 all out at Cliffe for whom Carrick took four for 22 and Adamson four for 33.

When the home side batted first Rodgerson was in splendid form and his 89 propelled Cliffe to 141 for seven at stumps. Dent (3-44) and Pool (3-52) were both among the wickets for Raby Castle.

Peter Frankland captured six wickets for 52 runs assisting the Barton attack which bowled out Heighington for 112 for eight. Barton were losing three wickets as Bell scored 30, Lockey 25, Miller 36 not out and Pheasant an unbeaten 20.

Witton-le-Wear crashed to 33 for nine in their home game with Rockliffe Park who won by ten wickets. Swanwick took six for 24 and Garbutt two for nine in an emphatic Rockliffe Park victory.

In Division B Rockliffe Park scored 107 for seven from their 30 overs but still defeated Spennithorne and Harmby by 24 runs. Farrow opened the visitors' batting and scored two sixes and four boundaries in 34. Even so, the innings produced only 83 for nine as James Edwards claimed seven wickets for 35 runs in 15 overs and Chris Westgarth took two for 39 in his 15-over spell.

Batting first Rockliffe Park were indebted to Jonathan Edwards for his opening innings of 49 which included eight fours. Simon Walker bowled well for the visitors and in 15 overs returned figures of five for 41.

Spennymoor managed only 58 from 19.5 overs when they hosted Heighington, but made the visitors fight all the way before losing by just one wicket.

Andrew Collingwood top scored for Spennymoor and for Heighington Gibson took six for 35 from 9.5 overs and Jameson claimed three for 21 from the ten overs he bowled.

Heighington struggled through 27.2 overs making a match-winning 59 for nine as Andrew Troop almost pulled the game out of the fire for Spennymoor by taking five wickets for 12 runs in 14 overs, eight of which were maidens. Collingwood with two for 32 and McGough two for 33 also bowled well for Spennymoor.

Lands passed 200 at Trimdon CCA. Elstob was just nine runs short of a century and Cummings contributed a half-century to a total of 207 for four. Three of the wickets fell to Churlish for 45 runs, but when Trimdon CCA replied they slumped to 58 all out as Talbot return figures of six for 33.

Eryholme were 71 for three with Warne unbeaten on 27 when rain caused their match at home to Catterick Village to be abandoned. Batting first Catterick ended on 147 for eight which included 47 by Swainston and 26 apiece by Lee and Parsons. Robson took three for 25 and Walker three for 73 in the Eyrholme attack.

No play was possible in the game between Middleton-in-Teesdale and Middleton Tyas following earlier rain.

Langbaurgh League

ASmith and Roger Briddock bowled Broughton and Kirby to an 85 runs victory at Hutton Rudby. Smith claimed six wickets for 47 runs in 20 while Briddock proved extremely economical conceding only 20 runs in as many overs and taking three wickets.

The home side were restricted to 71 for nine after Broughton and Kirby had posted 156 for six from their 40 overs.

Neil Parkin led the way with four fours and two sixes in 68 while Andrew White gave support, his 43 including one six and five boundaries.

Skelton Castle, newcomers to the league, won by three wickets at Thimbleby, who totalled 124 for nine which included 53 by opener Garbutt. Robson had a good day with the ball for the visitors returning figures of four for 27 and when Skelton Castle replied they were indebted to Hogarth who ended undefeated on 67 out of his side's winning total of 126 for seven.

The wickets were shared in the Thimbleby attack by Allen with four for 32 and Ward who claimed three wickets for 42 runs.

East Harlsey had 17 runs to spare at Kildale. Batting first the visitors posted 165 for six with runs down the order, particularly from Willey who top scored with 38.

When Kildale responded their opening batsman Cook gave the innings a good send off making 35 but it was Sonley (50) who raised the hopes of Kildale, but the innings eventually closed on 148 as Grainge took six for 54 and Willey four for 72.

Kirby Sigston reached 239 for nine at Ingleby Greenhow, who were all out for 129 which included 71 by Fawcett. Kendrew captured six for 46 and Clarkson three for 43 for Kirby Sigston whose top batsmen were Clarkson 97, Raynor 42, P Harper 31 and I Harper 37 not out.

Fawcett had figures of four for 75 and Sonley three for 99 for Ingleby Greenhow.

Scruton were dismissed for just 82 as Bruce returned the outstanding figures of six for 36 and Leng had three for 20 for Crathorne who batting first, ended on 106 for seven. Marshall was their top scorer with 38 and Whitfield added 34, while for Scruton, Bross took four for 63 and Barritt three for 40.

There was a double programme and on Monday Ingleby Greenhow were reduced to 73 by Maltby for whom Hutchinson had a hat-trick in the magnificent figures of eight for 32. Close then finished unbeaten on 46 as Maltby won by eight wickets.

Stafford Place's last pair were at the wicket when victory was secured against Hutton Rudby. Faced with a target of 146 Stafford Place were indebted to Lawrence for his top scoring 35 out of a total of 149 for nine.

When Hutton Rudby made first use of the wicket they ended on 145 all out which included 48 by Pugh and 40 from Alexander while for Stafford Place Smith claimed five wickets for a meager 25 runs.

Although they totalled only 119 for nine Kildale still won comfortably against Scurton, who were dismissed for 64 by the bowling of Doughty who captured eight wickets for a miserly 14 runs. Sonley top scored with 33 for Kildale and for Scruton, Ranns had figures of four for 29 and Brass three for 41.

Kirby Sigston made the huge total of 294 for six against Swainby, who were all out for 93. Raynor compiled an innings of 121 and Thompson added 75. Shinwell had figures of four for 120 for Swainby who found the bowling of Clarkson (4-32) and Cowton (4-28) too much.

Briddock returned five for 29 and Smith four for 31 and Crathorne were restricted to 68 for nine by Broughton and Kirby who went on to win by six wickets as Cook finished with 50 not out.

East Harlsey overtook the Thimbleby total of 131 for eight losing just two wickets. Mason was their top performer with the bat ending undefeated on 79.

In the Thimbleby innings none did better than Adams (30) while for East Harlsey Archer had three for 20 and Grainge three for 18.
