A Briton working in South Africa has been shot dead by car-jackers who stole his 4x4.
Whitby man John Perry, 50, was gunned down on the outskirts of Cape Town.
Police said he had gone to pick some friends up as a favour.
Mr Perry was ambushed and his body dumped before the assailants fled in his four-wheel drive truck. Detectives say he died instantly.
