ENGINEERS last night declared a building safe after a 2ft square piece of masonry fell from it.
A police spokesman said officers had been called to the SM pub, in Gray Street, Newcastle, at 1.15pm yesterday, when the masonry was seen to fall. No one was hurt in the incident.
A number of neighbouring buildings were cordoned off.
