NEW CHAIRMAN: Stanhope councillor Harry Irwin was elected chairman of Stanhope Parish Council at the annual meeting.

BOARD MEETING: The next meeting of Durham Dales Primary Care Trust takes place at the Durham Dales Centre, Stanhope, on Thursday, at 10am.
COFFEE AID: A coffee morning to help raise funds for equipment at the Weardale Community Hospital, Stanhope, is being held at Wolsingham Town Hall on Saturday, May 31, from 10am to noon.
STEWARDS NEEDED: An appeal has been made for more stewards to help run the Weardale Museum at Ireshopeburn during the summer season. Anyone interested is asked to contact secretary David Heatherington on (01388) 517433.
SALE DATE: A car boot sale to help raise funds for the Weardale Agricultural Society is being held at the recreation field, St John's Chapel, on Bank Holiday Monday , May 26, from 9am. There will be a craft fair and coffee morning in the town hall on the same day.
