The Richmond branch of the Royal British Legion has been awarded a grant to help cover the cost of restoring railings which surround the Green Howards memorial, at the foot of Gallowgate.
North Yorkshire County Council has agreed to contribute £975. The work should be complete before this year's Remembrance Day parade.
