SUNDERLAND goalkeeper Thomas Sorensen last night launched a furious attack on the Black Cats for pricing him out of a move.

The Danish international, who has attracted interest from Manchester United, Arsenal, Manchester City and Birmingham, claims Sunderland's £4m valuation is proving prohibitive as he seeks to resurrect his Premiership career.

Relegated Sunderland, desperate to slash debts of over £26m, are cashing in on the likes of Sorensen, striker Kevin Phillips and midfielder Gavin McCann.

But Sorensen, 26, insisted: "The price Sunderland are demanding cuts off any chance of me leaving.

"Several clubs have already shown interest and enquired about my availability, but the problem is the price, though I believe it will drop.

"With the market as it is, the price needs to be right and that is not the case right now.

"I'd hoped to get this sorted out quickly.

"There are many things which need to fall into place before I can move - there might be a lot of messing around."

Tore Andre Flo yesterday voiced similar concerns after performing a dramatic U-turn and admitting he is ready to quit Sunderland.

Flop Flo, who scored only four Premiership goals after former boss Peter Reid paid a club record £8.2m to lure him from Rangers last August, wants to relaunch his career in Italy or Spain.

Less than a month ago, the Norway striker insisted: "I don't want to move my family again and I'm very positive about the future with Sunderland.

"I'm willing to have one season in the First Division in order to get Sunderland back into the Premiership.''

Flo, however, has had a sudden change of heart since embarking on international duty after being urged by his cousin and roommate, Havard, to get out of the English game.

"I have been thinking that way,'' admitted Flo. "You can say that the subject of a transfer has been discussed in our room.

"I would gladly play in Spain or Italy, but no clubs have shown an interest."

Like Sorensen, 29-year-old Flo fears Sunderland's asking price could leave him in limbo.

"The price will scare some buyers, that's for certain,'' said Flo, who has two years left on his lucrative contract.

"But the price tag must have gone down by now. The club will not get the sort of money I have been sold for before."

Keeper Jurgen Macho, set to join Chelsea on a Bosman transfer, is convinced Sunderland will make a rapid return to the Premiership.

The Austrian has agreed a move to Stamford Bridge on a two-year deal, and is expected to complete the formalities when his Sunderland contract runs out at the end of next month.

He said: "I always had a good relationship with the Sunderland fans and they don't deserve the situation the club finds itself in.

"But I am sure that they will come back to the Premiership soon."
