YOUNGSTERS sampled toys of yesteryear as part of a half-term event yesterday.
The Playing in the Past event is taking place at Crook Hall, Durham, until Friday.
Families are invited to try old-fashioned toys, including hoops, quoits, whips and tops, boulers, marbles and yo-yos to gain a flavour for what youngsters did for amusement in a bygone age.
Staff are also on hand to organise games such as Ring o' Roses, Oranges and Lemons, and Here We Go Round the Mulberry Bush.
Crook Hall and gardens are open from 1pm to 5pm every day except Saturday. Entry is £4 for adults, £3.50 for concessions and £11.50 for families
