PREPARATIONS are under way for an annual 10km road race.
More than 1,000 competitors will be hitting the road in August, including junior athletes aged 13 to 16 who will run 3.5km.
Darlington Borough Council is working with Darlington Rotary Club to organise the event, and all profits from the runs will go to the Rainbow Trust and Circa, which are both children's charities.
All the race events, which take place on Sunday, August 10, will be sponsored by Sherwoods of Darlington.
This year, for the first time, the route will be closed to traffic to make it safer.
The fun run starts at 9.15am, the junior 3.5km at 9.45am, and the 10km race at 10.30am. For more details and an entry form, call Jeff Dawson, at Leisure Services, on (01325) 388427
