A FORMER cancer sufferer took to the skies to raise money in memory of a friend's baby who died earlier this year.

Four-month-old Kyle Brooklyn, a cerebal palsy sufferer, died in his mother's arms at his Darlington home in January.

Family friend Linda Heseltine, who battled back from ovarian cancer five years ago, completed the sponsored parachute jump at Peterlee airfield, Shotton Colliery, County Durham, yesterday to raise funds for Harewood House, a resource centre in Darlington that helped care for Kyle.

Ms Heseltine, 39, had originally planned to jump to raise money for the hospital ward where she was treated for ovarian cancer. However, she changed her mind when Kyle was born.

Anyone wanting to contribute to Ms Heseltine's fundraising in aid of Harewood House can phone her on (01325) 267307 or 07790 151775.
