An event highlighting the most promising young art talent on Teesside is taking place at Cleveland College of Art and Design, in Hartlepool.

The college will hold shows, called A New Breed of Individuals, to exhibit the work of its students from June 12 to 18. The display will also be shown at several venues, including college campuses in Middlesbrough and Hartlepool and Tall Trees Hotel, Yarm. For tickets or more information, contact (01642) 288888.

FLEA MARKET: The Saltburn Community and Arts Association is holding a flea market and collectors' fair on Saturday in the Community Centre hall, from 10am to 4pm. Money raised will go the Saltburn Community and Arts Centre. Admission is free.

Reporter's Surgery: Reporter Katie Barlow will be at Yarm Library today, from 10am to 11.30am. Anyone who has a story to tell, whether it be a local concern or dispute, or a family member's achievement is invited to come along and meet her.

TEDDY BEARS: A talk called The Return of the Teddy Bear will be held at Brotton Library on Wednesday, June 18. Joyce Thistlethwaite will talk about the history of the teddy bear and demonstrate how they are made. The event starts at 1pm and the talk begins at 1.30pm. Mrs Thistlethwaite has given lectures at the library before but is returning by popular demand. Admission is free.

COFFEE BREAK: Teesside Asthma Group is holding a coffee morning on Saturday, at Marske Leisure Centre from 10am to noon. Admission is 40p which includes tea or coffee and a biscuit.
