A sub-post office has opened in Upper Teesdale, which has been without one since the office at Forest shut 18 months ago.
The service, which is based in a small shop at High Force, will be useful for visitors to the waterfall and hotel as well as local residents.
A post office trainer will be there today and tomorrow to show staff the ropes. The sub-postmistress will be Noreen Liddle.
