Tomorrow is the day music fans and acts across the region have been waiting for.

The Northern Echo will host the Revolution Big Chance final, in partnership with TFM Radio.

The event will see three of the best unsigned pop and rock acts battle it out to be this year's top act in the region.

Rock band Stone Coda, from Brotton, east Cleveland, will take on Stockton's rockers 101 and two-piece Eskimo, from Richmond, North Yorkshire, to decide the winner.

The best act will win three days in Sanity Multimedia's recording studio, in Stockton.

The winner will also receive 100 CDs from Sanity, along with CD artwork from design firm House of Type.

Sheelagh Caygill, the new media editor of The Northern Echo, said: "The evening promises to be an exciting night for both the bands and music fans."

The judging panel which will select this year's winner is made up of Colin Paterson, TFM's programme director; Michael Atkinson, the editor of the Revolution website; Jonathan Burrows and Adam Sayers, from Sanity Multimedia Studio, Stockton; and John Whitehead from The Fourth Chamber.

TFM DJ Steve Harris will host the gig.

The competition, launched three months ago, saw more than 50 bands and artists from the region compete to be this year's Big Chance winner.

A judging panel and online voting narrowed the selection down to the three finalists.

At tomorrow's final, each act will play a 40-minute set, which will include their competition entry, along with other self-penned material and cover tunes.

The gig will be held at The Georgian Theatre, Stockton, tomorrow, at 7.30pm. Tickets are £3 at the door.
