PUPILS from two North Yorkshire schools were able to pit their wits against a series of challenges during a week-long adventure holiday in the Dales.

Fifty-two students from Bedale High School and Ripon Technology College made the trip to the Bewerley Park Centre for Outdoor Education, on the edge of Pateley Bridge, in Nidderdale.

Activities they tackled included sailing at Farnham, climbing at Brimham Rocks, gorge-running at How Stean, and canoeing on the River Ure, as well as well as taking on initiative tests at the centre designed to boost confidence and encourage leadership.

The schools' partnership dates back ten years and staff from both took part
