A MUSICAL event for a family audience is back at a North-East open air heritage museum, by popular demand.

Beamish Museum, near Stanley, County Durham, is staging the Traditional Music, Song and Dance Festival on Sunday, July 6.

Entertainment includes brass bands and banjos, choirs and clog dancers, folk songs and fiddlers.

As visitors arrive they will be greeted with a rag-time welcome by the Rae Brothers, while the museum's 1825 railway attraction will resound with the Northumbrian pipe playing of Dave Shaw.

Rapper and clog dancers will perform and other attractions include folk and traditional jazz music and recitals by a Methodist choir chapel.
