Darlington Veterans League

Bottom of the A Division, South Park created the shock of the day by drawing with League leaders Dene 2-2. Could this be the first sign of a recovery in the fortunes of the struggling South Park A? MSG in third place entertained Woodland A who were second and made home advantage tell by winning 3-1, there by heading the chasing group of teams trying to catch Dene A.

In the B Division a surprised Hundens A could only draw 2-2 against East Park B and with South Park's winning 3-1 they become the new leaders. The two teams relegated from the A Division last season are looking favourites to make s quick return.

Durham suffered their first defeat of the season when they were comprehensively beaten by 20 shots in the Middleton Cup match with Cumbria, at Wigton, in the Northern Group encounter.
