AN award-winning Teesside chef hopes to win a national competition for her curry recipes.
Louise Forrest, 50, who won the Redcar and Cleveland heat for the National Curry Chef competition, has her sights set on the final, which will be held in Birmingham in November.
Her winning dishes included Thai red curry with Chinese vegetables, pickled vegetables and crab rangoon. She will now compete in the North-East final - a heat of the national finals.
Ms Forrest came from Taiwan 23-years ago and works with her husband George and brother Tony Liu at the Oriental Caf, in Station Road, Redcar.
"My husband and I only just opened our restaurant in May after he was made redundant. It's often hard for middle-aged people to get going in business, but we have lots of energy and we love food," she said.
