MOBILE religious education lessons proved a success for Newton Aycliffe students.

For two days last week, year seven and eight pupils at Greenfield School were able to take part in RE lessons using the latest technology.

The GSUS Live presentation takes place on a lorry fitted with plasma screen computers. It is designed to generate interest in what is often seen as a boring subject.

After a short presentation about the lesson, the pupils received postcards from an unknown person and had to offer advice on the issues of fear, rejection and forgiveness.

They were helped by being shown relevant Bible verses, lyrics from a Christian song, accessing the GSUS Live website and watching a clip of the Miracle Maker video.

A youth pastor from the Christian Life Centre (CLC), in Woodham village, said: "It is an amazing way to get young people to think differently about how God thinks about things - and they seemed to enjoy themselves."

The GSUS Live presentation tours the North-East and is popular among schools with up to a two-year waiting list for visits.
