ONE of the country's leading unions has joined forces with its law firm to open an office in the region.
The GMB and Tyneside solicitors Browell Smith and Company will operate from premises in Market Place, Durham.
The company, which has offices in the North-East, including Newcastle, Wallsend and Ashington, provides legal services to the union and its members.
The office will serve both the union and the public. It will also be used as a base for three officials of the union, the country's general union, which has about 13,000 members in County Durham.
