A spurned mother drove 300 miles to hold a gun to the head of her estranged husband's new lover.
Sharon Matthews, 29, set off from her home in Gloucester to confront love rival Joanne Young and tried to run her over after an armed confrontation in a Newcastle street.
Newcastle Crown Court heard how the mother-of-five was furious when husband David Davies started a relationship, even though they were separated.
Matthews had hoped the couple would get back together, despite her husband moving to Newcastle, and snapped when she found out he was seeing someone else.
After pistol-whipping her rival in Walker, Newcastle, she pushed pushed her to the ground and tried to run her over.
Matthews pleaded guilty to possessing an air pistol with intent to cause fear of violence, affray and driving while disqualified. She was jailed for two years and banned from driving for a year.
