A TEENAGE pop rock band is looking forward to a recording session after coming second in a competition.
The Word were one of five groups in action at Lamplight Arts Centre, Stanley, part of a festival by Theatre Cap-a-Pie, from Dipton, and organised by Derwentside District Council's Special Project to Implement Children's Elections (SPICE).
Band members, all of whom are 17 and attend St Bede School, Lanchester, and winners Death Underpants won recording sessions.
Chris Ramshaw, one of the members of The Word, said: "This is a brilliant idea and a good opportunity for us."
