PEOPLE in Darlington are being asked for their opinion about the state of the town's streets.

Darlington Borough Council is carrying out a street environment review to look at the way streets in the borough are designed and looked after.

A series of listening days will be held across the town to enable residents to give their views.

The listening days will be held at the following venues: Morrison's, Morton Park on July 21; Morrison's, North Road, on July 22; The Cornmill Centre on July 23 and 24; Middleton St George on July 25; Darlington Market Square on July 28; Heighington on July 29; Hurworth on July 30; and Cockerton library on July 31. Each event will run from 10am to 4pm.

Listeners will also be visiting villages near Darlington.

Councillor David Lyonette, Darlington Borough Council's cabinet member for regeneration and planning, said: "To carry out the street review we need to know how satisfied local people are with our streets, and how they think they can be improved."

Further listening days will be arranged in the future.

Alternatively, residents can contact Shan Warren at the council on (01325) 388678 for a copy of the review questionnaire. It can also be downloaded from www.darlington.gov.uk
