TWO young athletes proved they had plenty of bounce at a national trampoline competition.
Gemma Proud, 12, of Tanfield, near Stanley, who trains at the Louisa Trampoline Club, came second in the under-13s contest, held in Perth, Scotland after being beaten to first place by less than a third of a mark.
Her coach, Rachael Sadler, said: "Gemma has only been doing this sport for less than two years and this was only her third competition at grade two level. To achieve second place was outstanding."
Fellow club member Rowanna Marston, 12, from Blackhall Mill, near Consett, came 12th in the under-15s.
Miss Sadler said: "I am really proud of them."
