THE Territorial Army has begun a recruitment drive as its soldiers continue to aid the rebuilding of Iraq.
Military officials believe that Territorial Army troops will be more frequently mobilised to assist operations across the world as greater demands are placed on the British Army's manpower.
One man who is promoting the advantages of joining up is Corporal Paul Standing, from Darlington, who has recently returned home from Iraq.
He was attached to 1 UK Armoured Division, one of the first units to cross the border from Kuwait to Iraq.
Cpl Standing, who joined the Territorial Army in 1990, lives in the area with his wife and son.
