FAMILIES planning summer trips can to take advantage of an improved bus service from next week.

The 401 Badger Bus, operated by Continental Coaches in partnership with Hartlepool and Stockton Borough Councils, will link parts of Hartlepool, Newton Bewley, Stockton and Thornaby to destinations including Summerhill in Hartlepool, the Hart to Haswell Walkway, Ward Jackson Park also in Hartlepool, Billingham Beck Valley, Castle Eden Walkway and Preston Park.

The service has been revamped for the summer to operate as a through service to Preston Park, Eaglescliffe.

It will operate under the 401 number and will run every Monday and Friday from July 21 until August 29.

Prices are £1.50 for a family day rover ticket for two adults and three children, £1 for an adult day rover ticket, 50p for a senior citizen day rover and 50p for a child day rover - aged five to 15.

All children under the age of 11 must be accompanied by an adult.
