A DISPLAY cabinet containing museum artefacts has arrived in Northallerton during a tour of North Yorkshire towns.
The flying showcase, which will spend the next six weeks in Hambleton Leisure Centre, contains items from Kiplin Hall, near Scorton, including the wooden block believed to have been used in the execution of Charles I.
A number of museums in Hambleton and Richmondshire have signed up to look after the cabinet for six weeks at a time - filling it with items from their displays to generate public interest.
It has already been in Bedale Leisure Centre, Skeldale Veterinary Surgery in Thirsk and at Co-operative Supermarket, Richmond.
