The latest in a series of Stockton Borough Council's guided cycle rides takes place tomorrow.

The ride is 18 miles of mainly country roads, heading south from Preston Park, visiting Hutton Rudby, Seamer, Hilton and Ingleby Barwick. It will be led by a group of experienced riders and will take about two-and-a-half-hours. Riders can meet at Preston Hall Museum at 10.15am for a 10.30am start. The ride is suitable for most cyclists but is on public roads and there are some hills. Under-16s must be accompanied by an adult. For more details, contact Neil Ellison on (01642) 397712.

CLUB INVITATION: Young-sters are invited to join a children's club run by the organisers of Billingham Folklore Festival. The club is for those aged between five and 14 and is held at St Michael's School, Billingham, from Monday, August 11 to Friday, August 15 between 10am and 11am each day. CHARITY SUCCESS: Redcar Ladies Guild would like to thank everyone who supported their Lifeboat Day, which raised £3,942 for the RNLI. The lifeboat stall in Morrisons, Redcar, also made £300.

GREAT RUNNERS: Teesside Hospice is looking for volunteers to enter the BUPA Great North Run to raise money for its work. The race is taking place on September 20 on Tyneside. MARKET STALLS: A charity market is to be held outside Somerfield, in Saltburn, on August 16. It costs £5 a space and sellers will be asked to bring their own table. The market will run from 10am to 4pm. For more details call (01287) 624 046.

LIGHT REPAIRS: Temporary traffic lights will be in place on Margrove Park, towards the junction of the A171, today so Redcar and Cleveland Council can carry out streetlight repairs.
