THE region's top exporters have been recognised at an awards ceremony attended by the Duke of York.
Prince Andrew was the special guest at the North East Export Awards 2003 dinner, hosted by Trade Partners UK and the North East Chamber of Commerce.
The event, held at Durham's Ramside Hall Hotel, brought together almost 300 businessmen and women.
Keith Miller, of Ecco Finishing Supplies, of Middlesbrough, won the new exporter award.
The Innovation in Export Individual Achievement Award went to Anne-Marie Hobson, of Thorn Lighting, Spennymoor.
Rite-vent, of Washington, won the Lloyds TSB award for Export Achievement.
